Vacation Report

We had a fantastic time in San Antonio. The weather was great (not too hot) and so was the family time. Chad and I enjoyed spending some quality time with each other and Drew without a to do list hanging over our heads. It was very relaxing and just the recharge we needed before Reid's arrival.

We got in town on Friday afternoon and headed to the pool and beach area.  The resort was beautiful and had a lazy river that meandered around the golf course and in the trees.  Drew loved the water and had a blast driving his trucks in the sand. We ate dinner poolside and topped the evening off with roasting marshmallows and making s'mores.

On Saturday morning we got up and headed to breakfast where Drew ate two platefuls of eggs and pancakes topped with chocolate chips.  Then we packed our coffee to go and headed out for a nature walk.  The resort had tons of nature trails where we spotted hummingbirds, ducks, cardinals and squirrels and collected a bucket full of rollie pollies.  Then it was back to the room to get ready for Sea World.  Drew was amazed and fearful of all the sea animals.  Shamu and the penguins were his favorites and he was most scared of the sea lions. We managed to squeeze in most of the shows before Drew was snoozing in the stroller.  That afternoon Drew and I shared popsicles on swing under the tree while Chad took a little siesta. Then we headed back for round 2 of the pool and s'mores. All in all it was a fantastic mini vacation!

Favorite quotes of vacation:

On the way there in the car an 18 wheeler passed our car.  Drew started whimpering and said, "Daddy's driving backwards."

We were sitting on the beach and a group of preteen girls were burying eachother in the sand.  When one girl was completely buried she said, "I feel like a big fat pregnant lady."  That made me feel really great!

While watching the waterski boats at Sea World Drew said, "not daddy's boat.  A man drives it."

I was feeding the dolphins with Drew at Sea World and told him that they eat sardines.  When I asked him that night what the dolphins eat he said, "some beans."

Sorry I don't have a lot of photos to share.  We spent more time having fun than we did documenting the trip.
