Catching Up

Where do I begin? Since my last post we had 2 field trips, a visit from Grammy and Grandpa, Texas OU weekend, and a birthday (mine unfortunately).  Reid is consistently sleeping through the night these days and we are back on the go.  I have to give Reid kudos for her sleeping skills.  She rocks! No crying, no rocking to sleep...nada! When it comes to sleeping, she is a champ.  If only I could figure out why my 2 year old is waking up again?

Last week we went to Grisham Farms on a little play group field trip and it was a blast. Drew loved the animals and we learned a lot. Did you know that Chinchillas have more fur than any other animal and can't get wet because they will get pneumonia before their fur dries? And hedgehog's quills are filled with air that cushions their fall when they roll out of trees?  Interesting stuff. I should have paid more attention in science class.  Later in the week we went on our first hike with the Tiny Trekkers. A grandma (Beverly) who loves nature, kids and is a "certified naturist" (whatever that is) started this group to get moms out into nature with their kids and it's awesome. We took a long hike and learned all about seeds and squirrels etc. Drew loved it and kept running behind Beverly saying "let's see what she is going to find next." He is so inquisitive these days.

We had a few friends over for the TX/OU game.  What a great game by the way. Go horns! Drew had a ton of fun playing with his friends and was especially interested in the ladies. He took most interest in Megan, who is an adorable 3 year old with blond curly hair.  She was the second girl in 2 days for Drew to kiss on the lips. He said "She's cute. She has a bow."  Lock your daughters up everyone, Drew is trouble!  We ended the weekend with a visit from Grammy and Grandpa.  Drew had a blast playing with them and eating breakfast tacos.

We celebrated my birthday on Monday with dinner from Rudy's bbq and a cookie dough ice cream cake. Drew was so sweet the entire day and kept singing me happy birthday. It melted my heart.   He was so excited to help me blow out the candles on the cake and told everyone I was turning 2.   I couldn't have dreamed a better birthday.  It was perfect.

That in a nutshell is what is going on at our house. Reid's latest activity is sticking out her tongue. It tops her list of favorite activities along with blowing saliva bubbles. Exciting stuff. Gunner got his gross tubes out today and managed to break a lamp with his gigantic cone hat.  Don't sweat the small stuff right?
